Portal Life takes place after Chell escaped from Apature Science. Since Chell has no idea what is happening in the outside world she stumbles into a town that has been taken over by the Combine. Luckily for her most of the Combine have been called away to fight the resistance and only a few were left to guard the town with turrets and forcefields. Chell must now use her portal gun to topple towers and buildings to navigate her way through the town before the Combine catch her.
